Bhutan, is a landlocked country, located in the southern part of the eastern section of the Himalayas between China and India, with a total area of 38,394 square kilometers. The first post office of Bhutan was founded on October 10, 1962. In the same year, Paro and Thimphu also founded post offices , known as postal and telecommunications sector, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Communications. This is a choice of starting first five-year plan, pointing out the significance of unified communications in the country to achieve social and economic development. The initial postal service was the most basic service such as letters, postcards and parcels. At that time, the exchange of mail between Bhutan and India was carried out by means of a combination of porters, scorpions and electric motors.
